way̓, hello friends!
My name is Jameson (Jaime) Bukkos and I am a future teacher; I come from the Syilx (Okanagan) Upper Nicola First Nation and reside on the territory of the Lhedli Tenneh First Nation.
I became conscious of my teaching journey at twenty, a time where I would definitely classify myself as a “kid.” Just me specifically. Half a decade later with what felt like an Odyssey-level journey to an English degree, I found myself in an environment that I truly feel myself…like a kid. And, like my peers, teachers, students, students’ parents, and Spongebob would say: that’s okay!
I teach my students to love every bit of themselves and that mistakes do not reflect the shape of their soul. Just like my teaching journey has evolved and shaped over time, so has my outside and my inside. And, like Jake the Dog would say, “as long as I know the shape of my soul, I know I’ll be okay.”
